Roosevelt Hospital Center, an Academic Affiliate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, is a 1,076-bed, full-service community and tertiary care hospital. St. Luke's-Roosevelt was formed in 1979 by a merger of St. Luke's Hospital, adjacent to the campus of Columbia University, and The Roosevelt Hospital, located two blocks west of Columbus Circle. The St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals, established in 1846 and 1871, respectively, brought to their merger extraordinary records of medical "firsts" and commitment to their patients.

Roosevelt also is widely respected for high quality clinical care and for its contributions to research. Throughout its history St. Luke's-Roosevelt also has placed strong emphasis on responding with compassion and sensitivity to the unique needs of the communities it serves, including areas whose residents have multiple social and economic challenges. The Hospital Center's ability to serve these populations is enhanced through relationships with groups including the William F. Ryan Community Health Center and the Council Health Center, as well as through school-based clinics at area high schools. St. Luke's-Roosevelt initiates and supports a wide range of community health-focused activities and maintains an extensive network of relationships with churches and community groups throughout the West Side and Upper Manhattan.

DIRECTIONS

BY CAR 
Take the West Side Highway (Henry Hudson Parkway) to the 56th Street exit. Head eastbound on West 56th Street to Tenth Avenue. Turn left (northbound) on Tenth Avenue to the main lobby entrance (east side of Tenth Avenue between West 58th and West 59th Streets).

PARKING 
The public parking garage is located on the north side of West 59th Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. Additional public garages are located on West 58th Street (one-way, eastbound) and West 60th Street (one-way, westbound) between Columbus Circle and Ninth Avenue, and on West 59th Street (one-way, westbound) between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues.

BY BUS 
M11 (uptown) to Tenth Avenue and West 59th Street. M11 (downtown) to Ninth Avenue and West 59th Street. M57 (crosstown) to Tenth Avenue and West 57th Street. M104 (Broadway line) to Columbus Circle (Broadway between West 58th Street and West 60th Street).

BY SUBWAY 
Take an A, B, C, D, #1 or #9 train to Columbus Circle (58th-59th Streets) at the intersection of Broadway and Eighth Avenue.
