Having a child with any type of issue can be overwhelming for parents. Good parents want nothing less than the best for their children, and problems can cause a great deal of stress and emotion that is heavy to carry. Navigating through the diagnosis and treatment options when a child has been diagnosed with a vascular anomaly can be very difficult to handle. There are so many unknowns when it comes to vascular abnormalities – Why did it occur? What can be done? How much will treatment cost? Will there be scars? All of these questions are difficult to wade through, and it is especially difficult when a vascular anomaly occurs on the face or other visible area, or when significant intervention is necessary.

The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York is uniquely designed to assist our patients through the emotions of this difficult process, the continual “jumping through hoops” with insurance companies, the anxieties, and the questions that arise again and again.

At The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York, Dr. Milton Waner recognized the overwhelming stress that most parents are under when their child has any type of vascular abnormality. He took this recognition and decided to hire a Parent Advocate who will offer support to parents as they navigate the unknown.

The Parent Support division of The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York continues to work diligently in order to meet the needs of patients and parents of patients. Often times, parents simply want to speak with someone who understands what they are going through. At other times, they simply want to speak with someone who has information pertaining to their situation. And still at other times, parents and patients need assistance navigating the highly complicated insurance jargon. Whatever the needs of our patients, The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York is here for you.

At The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York, we are always growing to meet the needs of our patients. If you would like to be included in a network of parents for patient support, or you would like to be connected to a parent for support, please contact us today. Together we can continue to support one another.
