The Waner Children’s Vascular Anomaly Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to helping children born with vascular anomalies- rare conditions affecting veins, arteries, lymph vessels, or capillaries. Founded by Dr. Milton Waner, a global leader in the treatment of these anomalies, the Foundation provides critical access to expert care, financial assistance, and educational resources for families around the world.
What We Believe
These anomalies are not just cosmetic. Left untreated, they can cause pain, disfigurement, breathing or vision problems, and in some cases, life-threatening complications. The Foundation believes that every child deserves access to specialized care, no matter their location or financial situation.
Our Mission
The Foundation’s mission is threefold:
- Access to Expert Treatment
We connect families to specialized vascular anomaly centers where children can receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary care. - Financial Support
We offer grants to help cover the cost of travel, consultations, surgeries, and post-operative care for families unable to afford treatment. - Global Education and Outreach
We support medical education and international outreach to train local physicians, raise awareness, and bring specialized care to underserved communities.
How We Help
- Funding Medical Travel and Procedures
Many families must travel across states or even countries to reach a qualified treatment center. The Foundation helps cover transportation, lodging, and medical costs for qualifying families. - Case-by-Case Guidance
Each applicant receives personal support through the evaluation and referral process. We help families navigate complex diagnoses, find the right physicians, and understand treatment options.
- Global Humanitarian Work
Our team travels internationally to perform pro bono surgeries and train local doctors in advanced treatment techniques, expanding access in areas with little to no specialized care.
